The last Ford Focus ST rolled off the production line at the Saarlouis plant in Germany on September 26. Production will be fully discontinued by November 2025.
The announcement of the discontinuation of the Ford Focus ST comes due to car manufacturers pushing for the acquisition of electric alternatives such as the Abarth 500e, VW ID.3 GTX, and Peugeot E-208 GTi.
The end of Ford’s iconic hot hatch line comes years after the discontinuation of the Fiesta ST, which was completely removed from the lineup, as, according to CEO Jim, it wasn’t selling as well as its competitors.
According to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), Ford sold 260,342 cars in the first eight months of the year. VW delivered nearly three and a half times more, and Skoda alone nearly doubled Ford’s volume.
Another hot hatch bidding farewell to its enthusiasts is the Honda Civic Type R, due to stricter emissions regulations.
